Olivia Goldberg
Math Teacher, SST & 504 Coordinator, Softball Coach

With 7 years of experience in education, I have proudly dedicated the last 6 years to serving the students of Esperanza High School. As a Teacher, I specialize in AP Statistics, Data Science, and honors Geometry, providing students with a rigorous and engaging academic experience. Additionally, I serve as the SST (Student Success Team) and 504 Coordinator, ensuring that students with individualized educational needs receive the support and accommodations necessary for their success. Outside the classroom, I am also honored to serve as the softball coach, guiding student-athletes both on and off the field.

I am actively involved in the school's accreditation efforts as a member of the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) Focus Group Leader B, where I contribute to maintaining and improving the high academic standards of our institution. Furthermore, I am a member of the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) committee, working to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.

On a personal note, I bring a unique perspective to my role as a teacher and coach, having been a collegiate athlete myself and growing up in the PYLUSD district. These experiences have shaped my approach to education and my dedication to supporting students in both their academic and extracurricular pursuits.

My favorite thing about Esperanza is the community and culture it fosters. It is truly inspiring to witness the involvement of students and staff in creating such a welcoming and fun environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I am actively involved in the school's accreditation efforts as a member of the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) committee. Within this role, I work tirelessly to maintain and elevate the academic standards of our institution. Furthermore, I contribute to the positive school culture as part of the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) organization, fostering an environment of respect and inclusivity.

My professional journey has been shaped by diverse experiences, including a distinguished tenure as a Major in the US Marine Corps and my involvement as a NCAA DI and International Umpire. Notable highlights include officiating at the World Championships in the Netherlands in 2014.

On a personal level, I am deeply committed to the success and well-being of the students and staff at Esperanza High School. Their dedication and enthusiasm serve as a constant source of inspiration for me.

My favorite thing about Esperanza is the vibrant community of students and staff whose passion for learning and collaboration makes it an exceptional place to teach and grow.
